Essentially just playing action figures with the characters.
Whoever directed the episode shouldn't be given another in the future. That episode was way too Disney and it took me out of what was previously an immersive story that felt like it was going somewhere.
Now they have some damage control to do to get back on track, and have to finish the season with a splash within the course of an hour.
Can they move things at the pace required to make that happen? Given the pace so far it seems unlikely.
Probably a slow crawl culminating in a maddening cliffhanger that brings up more questions than answers.
The 2+ year wait will just piss people off.
The future of the show will also suffer greatly from losing Ray.

True, but my question is...does Baylan die in the next episode or...do they consider recasting him so the character can continue?

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
