By all other accounts he has been a good speaker and well respected. It's ridiculous to me that this is the end for his career and everyone else gets no blame at all. Glad to see that Trudeau finally realized that he needed to apologize (not personally but) on behalf of the government but the way they have thrown Rota under the bus, referring to him as an independent and offering no support, is pretty bad. Same goes for the opposition vilifying the guy like he's some nazi lover.

I'm not saying that either. But if he knew him personally (maybe I'm wrong and he didn't know him that well) there should be at least some questions asked before pointing him out in the House and giving him a standing O with the leader of Ukraine in attendance.
