He was naive, didn't know his history, and made a big mistake. He acknowledged his mistake and made a sincere apology. I don't believe for a second that he was malicious or intended to glorify the nazis. Other people who should have known the history stood up and clapped and are given a free pass.

By all other accounts he has been a good speaker and well respected. It's ridiculous to me that this is the end for his career and everyone else gets no blame at all. Glad to see that Trudeau finally realized that he needed to apologize (not personally but) on behalf of the government but the way they have thrown Rota under the bus, referring to him as an independent and offering no support, is pretty bad. Same goes for the opposition vilifying the guy like he's some nazi lover.
