In that scenario you're placing all decision making on the player (or employee) which is rarely the case in real world, maybe I shouldn't have compared pro sports to corporate scenes. We can agree that there's 99% certainty Conroy was making calls trying to move Backlund this summer after his comments, only to circle back on negotiations after underwhelming offers? What has been so great about Backlund's time in Calgary that screams "better late than never, glad he's finally the guy"?
I'm not trying to troll, I don't post a lot, I'm just curious why naming a guy that wanted to go away is being deemed as 3 yrs too late. Don't we hate giving 35 yr olds contracts to stay?
