Boston born kid, who also went to Boston College, have to think his dream is to play for the Bruins. It's never been confirmed who exactly the Bruins were targetting in 2015 either but the rumor always has been they had those 3 first round picks and were trying hard to move up to get Hanifin too.
And unfortunately even though Bruins are in a bit of cap hell this season, things line up pretty nice for them to be able to add him next season.
They have the $4.5M from the Bergeron/Krecji bonus overages off the book, $3.0M from Derek Forbort, and $3.6M from Matt Grzelcyk expiring next year. Only $59M committed to the cap overall next season.
Really I don't think them going $7M+ for Hanifin will be an issue for them at all.
Lindholm-Mcavoy
Hanifin-Carlo
That becomes a pretty elite top 4 too.

So they are going to pay Hanifin $7M a year and continue to have no centre depth?
