Humans are emotional, not logical.
They know that if they tell you your season ticket price is $95/game, and then as you're about to sign on the dotted line you realize it's actually effectively $104, you feel committed already and rationalize it away and make the purchase.
Same thing with how they now use the Ticketmaster algos to fake like every event is almost sold out. There is implied scarcity, our emotions kick in and tell us we need to act now, and it must be ok, because everyone thinks it must be this valuable too. Then you show up to either a half full venue, and wonder what the hell happened, or you talk to the person sitting next to you that bought their ticket for 60% of the price of yours because they bought later.
Markets can be manipulated beyond pure supply and demand.
