It's so funny how pre-season stats can mean so little but also mean so much at the same time.
Coronato plays a fantastic game with under 15 minutes total ice time. Put's up a hattrick and defensively was very sound. By all accounts you couldn't ask for more, we know its just 1 game and it was a very Abbotsford lineup but his effort shouldn't go ignored.
If it was Fantilli or Bedard people/media would be going absolutely bonkers on TSN with fabricated highlight videos already up in droves. Instead we get get reminded it's just 1 pre-season game and the Cannucks roster was poop so he was lucky etc etc.
Can we not just be excited for the kid? (I know those of us here aren't the ones downplaying it) I'm glad Huska came out and said he was excited for the kid, along with a bunch of the vets. All echoed the same thing, consistency is key and he just needs to keep playing his game which EVERYONE knows, but at the same time its okay to get excited as a fan.
If he came out and had no impact last night, he would have been blasted much like Penticton. So I'm happy he dominated last night, goes to show you he's put in the work and is clearly ready for a top 6 role with the big club to start.
