I've dated Canuck fans, and then Senator fans in the past... and boy, some arguments would get HEATED! Obviously, we both end up conceding that it is just sport, but boy oh boy, especially in '04 when the Flames knocked the Canucks out in the first round, the bitterness towards a team is sometimes hard to ignore.

Yeah, I think that's a good point, as my current GF wasn't all too interested in hockey before meeting me (she's a huge NBA and NFL fan though), but since we've started dating has really taken the initiative to learn about the sport and has even embraced the Flames as her team. Not sure if it's for me or because of Matthew Lombardi though...
