I've been a coach (to children, granted) and I'm...I dont like the term 'boss' but I'm an employer.

There are many ways to motivate people besides abuse and power games.

Heres this crazy tactic that is one of my favourites...if the people you're, for lack of a better term, 'controlling.' If you engage them as people and lo and behold they come to like you, they are going to be more likely to expend additional effort on your behalf.

I know, cooperation in team sports and/or business is madness.
