I might be off base here but in today's game it seems like coaching only really seems to influence a team when it's toxic, in a negative way.

Babcock is clearly a ###### bag but he had a hell of a lot more success than just at Detroit.
His record before the NHL, albeit at lower levels, was very impressive, going to the finals with Anaheim and even the success with team Canada is impressive.
