Likely a bit of both...anyways the point of this long winded introduction is for me to say how completely blown away I am by Baldur's Gate 3. Like my 80's pimply faced teenager self wouldn't have been able to fathom that such a game could even exist. Like I spent hours creating my character and the detail and graphics are insane. Then I went through the opening few sequences and my jaw just dropped. I've barely scratched the surface of the game as I just landed the ship and started exploring. I'm just hoping it's not too difficult and that I will be able to figure it out and enjoy it. Any beginner tips for an old, old, old school RPG player would be greatly appreciated. Thanks my friends
I'm right there with you, I started playing pen and paper D and D in the early/mid eighties and loved it. Had a strong group of friends that got together most Sundays for a couple of years then i left Calgary and never played pen and paper again.
Then came Baldurs Gate 2: Shadows of Ahm in 2000 and I was addicted to computer RPGs. This game is blowing me away in it's detail. I mean you even decide if you character is cut or uncut(and amount of pubic hair...lol).

I don't really have any tips other than use your search button and to take your time. On the PS5 it's the X button. Small spoiler ahead but it shouldn't ruin anything should you decide to read.
Spoiler!

And make sure you switch to turn based mode if/when you are sneaking up on a hostile group.

Enjoy and don't be in a rush!
