Listening to Whit, the one thing you can be 1000% sure of is he's not reading some PR statement or something prepared by a lawyer, etc. He's just out there putting himself on the line and speaking on his own. I've watched/listened to these guys for a bit, and you can tell they're good people (or at the very least not mean-spirited people with agendas). Like, yeah they swear and tell jokes and their stories from back in the day and straight up crazy etc, but they're not liars. They're not evil people trying to stir #### up. I believe them long before I'll believe some PR statement released by a team on social media.
Like he said too, mentioning a name wasn't smart cause now you're literally giving the team an easy way to shoot this down... just get the guy to say it isn't true. Or maybe the team has nothing to do with that guy's response and maybe he's just worried that if he corroborates, and they still don't fire Babcock, now he's in the doghouse all season with an a**h*** for a coach. That's potentially something you don't come back from.
Anyway, these guys are pretty huge in terms of media clout. From all reports they've worked hard at it too, for a lot of years, to get where they are. I can't see them wanting to risk everything on Mike Babcock.
