The “somebody think of the 14 year old girls!” is leaning a little heavy on the whattaboutism / appeal to emotion scale. I guess if your argument relies on infantilizing anyone that isn’t a middle aged man, maybe it works.
But yes, the vast swath 14 year old girls that regularly rely on the Ctrain should maybe be consulted on how they feel rather than assuming they are all weak and incapable of anything.
Anecdotally, just weeks ago, I dropped my 14 yr old daughter off with her friend at Dalhousie and they managed their way downtown to explore on their own. They also used the free fare zone and didn’t report any problems.
