It is old black and white possibly 40s maybe 50s? could be older then that still, hard to say I was young. I think it is a short film, or maybe I just remember the one part.
What I remember was some man being tormented by these glowing crystals on some alien planet until he learns that we can use them to make music. IIRC he used them like a piano.
