First of all, I wasn't by any means attacking gvitaly like the tone of your post implies. I very much respect him.
Secondly, it wasn't me who suggested trading Hanifin to Buffalo- the discussion was started by some rumors and speculation. Indeed, Hanifin's name has come up a ton in connection to the Sabres. Perhaps you should argue your case to all the rumor mongers on the internet, as they must not be aware.
Thirdly, defensemen play their off-side quite regularly in the NHL, though it may not be ideal. This past season, Dahlin played a lot on the right side on a formidable pairing with lefty Samuelsson, and had his best season as a pro on both sides of the puck. They've played Dahlin and Power together as well, but apparently it didn't work as well.
