I really hope they get the 97 back open soon. A permanent fix is going to take years, there is a crap ton of rock that needs to be moved.

What is so bad about Osoyoos to Kelowna using hwy 33 it is almost the exact same drive time as using hwy 97? Sometimes it’s even been a little quicker for me depending on traffic.
When the slide first happened the ministry of transportation talked about getting one lane open for emergency vehicles. The goal now is alternating traffic on this upcoming weekend for all vehicles.
