So, a ####ty thing to do, but I don’t know if that’s necessary a career ender. Maybe some legal trouble if she could prove he lied under oath, but I doubt they’d be super interested in getting back into that for that reason alone.
For as sensational as the media can be, they've certainly downplayed what the headlines could have been. Years ago and even today you can see headlines calling her Kutcher's ex-girlfriend or then-girlfriend.

No, they had barely met. She was a stripper and sex-worker along with being an aspiring actor/model. Kutcher met her, partied with her, but being in a relationship he set her up with a friend. At least that's how they described it. Then he ended up single and this was their first "date." When Kutcher called her at 8:30 to tell her he was going to be late, she was with another man who she just had sex with. $300 was found at the crime scene which has led to many speculating that the married older apartment manager may have paid for her services, though it's speculation and I don't know if it was brought up in trial or anything.

I don't really care what consenting adults are doing, so whether Kutcher was pursing a relationship with her or just looking to be a john that night, it doesn't really matter to me.

But, if the vague-cryptic-conspiracy has any merit, Kutcher's probably thinking he's getting the Senator Geary treatment if he did indeed find her that night. She was stabbed in an hour between Kutcher calling her and Kutcher arriving at apartment, presumably he didn't know she was with another man so he probably thinks he's the last to talk to her. Now he shows up and there's a dead (or maybe even only dying) prostitute and he leaves the scene? And then lies to the cops? Yeah, I don't see how that wouldn't be a "career-killer" level incident in her mind and the courts don't joke around with known high-profile perjures so it's not like it just hurts his reputation. Especially in light of his "real men don't buy girls" campaign.

Or Kutcher just thought he got stood up for being late.
