I don't think it's entirely fair to put this season on Maier. He's not been good enough but the Stamps are 4-9 because they are simply not a good football team coaching down. It's clear Dickenson has struggled with juggling the GM and HC duties as this is the worst coached Stamps team since Dunnigan. Mobile QB's have run all over the defense all year long, special teams while better of late were ghastly in the first half of the season, and the offense has oscillated between good and bad from quarter to quarter all season. There's a multitude of issues with this team and even with better quarterbacking they are at best likely battling a mediocre Riders team for 3rd place. Instead they are likely going to miss the playoffs and the only question now is if they finish ahead of the Elks or dead last in the West. Maybe this was needed for a reset as things have been getting stale for the past few seasons and to me it seems they need a shakeup in the coaching staff at the very least and a 1B QB to challenge Maier for the starting job.
