He was 9th on the Flames in terms of forward scoring as a 23 year old while playing 35 fewer games than any forward who finished above him. The fact that the expectations for him were higher than the expectations for any other forward who finished higher in scoring by the coaching staff was part of the problem with the previous coaching staff. Hopefully this coaching staff gives him a bit more rope this year.
