It's good news about the cream colored but the logo is completely unimaginative and looks like something that would be on a Walmart special t shirt jersey or some cheap pennant or coffee mug. Yes it tried to be in the same general theme with using a round logo and wordmark, but the Flames C inside instead of a bucking horse doesn't aestheticly compare at all.
Flames own the Stampeders football team, and with a the top hockey team in the city named the Stampeders at one time (and used for this era of jersey), with a similar logo back when, having the above hockey Stampeders logo, with a Flames C on the shoulder, shouldn't be too hard to get whatever approval from the league for an alternate historic logo for one off jersey.

Keep the "Calgary" wordmark and the horse and rider log. Omit "Stampeders" (or not) and again, put a Flaming C on the other shoulder.
