What a weird example. Kiprusoff was already 27-years-old, had played 47 NHL games and two full seasons in the AHL, and he had already played NHL playoff games and won a series.

That's ridiculous. I agree that he has probably "outgrown" the AHL, although he would not be the first goalie to do so and to continue playing AHL games to stay game-ready—not by a long shot. Especially with the farm team playing in the same building, there is no risk at all having Wolf shuttling back and forth. Wolf is only 22. He has a LONG way to go yet and plenty of runway to get there.
