The idea of not constantly "documenting their lives" is completely alien to them.
Do you memorize all your phone numbers too?

Seriously, I'd be jealous if you did. I constantly mix up the order of what happened in the last 3 to 30 days. I have to go back to my phone and use emails or photo evidence to verify the accuracy of my memory and recreate an accurate time line. Brain just dumps info.

Or as Pepsi put it, "When the #### did this happen? I think I'm experiencing it again! Neat!"

Is it for that moment when someone says "Pfft, I don't believe for one f-ckin' second that you went to that concert" and you're all like "Oh yeah, check out this video I took; checkmate, bitch."

I get taking photos here and there, although I think there's a quality to it that's lost now that everything is entirely digital. There's something special about looking through the old photo albums mom kept back when you actually had to take your rolls of film to get developed at K-mart.
There's a ton of people who audit social media. Oh. You don't have digital evidence? It never happened. A friend once asked my wife what I did to be romantic. She didn't believe my wife until pictures were shown because my wife had not posted the vast majority of those types of things on her social media. She only posted key moments in her life.

But yeah... social media audits... checkmate bitch! indeed.

I dislike the facet that photography is so disposable and posed. It's almost the opposite of film photography. I appreciate the fact I can capture what I want without much worry via retakes if necessary (ie: dual capture vs single shot via film), but I hate that many like to demand 50-200 pictures just to aim for 1-2 pics. Or they document #### like they're trying to do a stop motion video with real photographs.

"Take it again. I wasn't ready. Take it again. Can you not take ####ty photos? Different pose? Different background? OMG why did you let me blink?? Different combinations of people and positions? Serious! Silly! Pre candle! Wish! Post candle! Cake cutting!"

Personally, I do a thing where I love taking pictures of "outtakes". You have like half a dozen camera phones pointed at the same direction, I'll point mine at the half a dozen dummies. My wife is taking videos and pics of our kids, I'll point at her and capture her proud face.... plus occasionally turn it towards the real subject, in case she forgot to push record or whatever stupid dumb thing. If photographing me, I'll do the requested posed look. But if I'd rather you just record a video of me or I'll do some exaggerated poses that aren't common selfie poses.
