I'm starting to believe that the flames should be the ones waiting to see how the season goes before signing Lindholm. While I believe the reported 8.5m aav is a fair rate, it will only likely be a decent contract for the first half, much like the Huberdeau and Kadri contracts. If nearly 70m is on the table right now Lindholm should have signed. I know it's rumoured he wants trade protection but how can you say no to that guaranteed money?
Is there any chance that management is delaying the signing to see if the team will be dragged into a rebuild?
