Not looking good so far. When this started in May I figured we would be back up and running by October. I don't see that happening now. It would take a good month or two just to crew back up. Most networks have already cancelled their big shows for the year so it now falls on the movie producers to get things back to the negotiating table.
ILM has closed two shops so far, Singapore and Australia I believe. Two small VFX houses have closed here in Vancouver in the past week as well. Neighbors do a lot of print work for film and they are close to defaulting on their lease for the warehouse. Lots of friends draining savings just to pay the bills. I'm still working but the wife has been off since April so we are feeling the squeeze for sure.
The UK and France already have a system in place they pays writers and creators based on the streaming numbers of their shows so it's not like they are asking for anything crazy.
