That is not happening in Edmonton, similar to Toronto. His 5 on 5 numbers aren't great and now he will be 30 and missed an entire season. He does not have high end skill, size or speed so he's a risk to be very over paid and a bust for the Oilers this season. On paper I can see why the fans up north are excited when you compare him to the other depth but IMO Klostin is probably a better player at this point in Brown's career.

I believe Kostin will be the next Lance Bouma. His underlying numbers were bad, and his scoring chance conversion was through the roof.
His on-ice shooting % was tops on the Oilers. His personal 5v5 shooting % was 19.64 which is a Stamkos in a career year type of number.
Klimdros was a fun story, but he'll probably be scoring more like a 4th liner next season.
Brown was top 5 in Ottawa in underlying 5v5 numbers. A bit below 50% on things but the team was bad. His 1.71 p/60 is acceptable for a top six guy. I didn't watch Ottawa at all recently but their fans universally loved him. He plays the game the right way.
Missing a season to a major knee injury is a concern for sure.
