Haven't touched the outpost aspect yet and only repainted a ship, I'll put more hours in before I delve into that.
I'll say doing the Mantis mission after reading the note you pick up early in the game truly put me into Statfield. After completing that I was like, yeah, this is Bethesda at its best

I don't want to spoil anything but that side mission is a must when you are in the early hours of the game.
