The only players on the team right now that are going to matter in 3 years are the young group who hasn't broken out yet and Anderson, lindholm, Kadri huberdeau. Would a core built around 35 year Olds + Coranato pelts and wolf fill an arena? I guess I'm a little confused why the team wouldn't want to blow up half this roster and go on a little rebuild to grab some prospects. It's starting to look more and more like this will be the ideal season to rebuild and I'm okay with that.

Our 2 best players told the team they wanted out last year. All our important UFAs coming up told the team they probably weren't going to resign except one. We traded the one that wanted to stay and haven't done anything with the rest of them. Our best hope is we resign a couple of them and maybe be a mediocre team for a few more years. I agree with you that ownership will want a sold out arena and higher ticket prices when the new building is done, but the people that they expect more money from paid more than they should have to build that arena.
I am a Flames fan and I want more than anything for this team to be successful. I hope I'm proven wrong. Think I will be?
