Wait, so you're at the bottom of a snowy mountain road in, say, a fwd Honda Civic. You have to get up the road and you only have two winter tires. You're going to put those tires on the
back. That's insane. They obviously have to go on the front. I thought you were just messing around when you said you'd put the crappy tires on the front and the winters on the back. How do you expect to get traction in a fwd car if you have crappy tires on the front and good tires on the back. It makes no sense whatsoever.
I'm willing to prove this in the winter. We'll take my daughter's VW Sportwagen and do some experiments. Kind of a waste of time since I know I'm right (I have done this), but if it'll put this to rest we can do it together.
