Dial of Destiny definitely felt like it was brushing up against the greatness of the original trilogy, but ended up teasing fans mostly. It just needed to be a little more sure of itself and bold in what it was going for. The old movies didn't hold back and didn't waste time.
It did have the feel of old Indiana-lite fare at moments, and given that they don't make movies like those any more, it was hard not to enjoy the ride at least and steep in the nostalgia for a bit.
I like the de-aged scenes. Felt like outcuts from Indy's heyday.
