But funny enough the one thing that always gets me now is hearing sound effects in space fights. Since half of the new sci-fi movies mute or muddle sound in space, it's always strange now to come back to these franchise where sound is totally unaffected by the vacuum of space. It takes me a moment to readjust to this again.

Yeah, I never cared about the physics of Star Wars. Its an easy explanation. This was a hyper advanced society, they figured stuff out.
And without sound in space we would be missing the iconic scream of the tie fighter. The Pew Pew meme would have never been invented. The crashing sound of a ship heading into hyperspace that made the engines sound so powerful would never exist.
Still want to hear the enormous space worm fart. I'm sure when George was redoing the original trilogy and inserting his fart jokes someone said "George a speaker shattering THX sound super worm fart isn't a good idea" And George would demand research into in theatre smell o vision.
