Done by someone who considered the needs of all users then says, ya, #### it, toss that light post right there, on an extremely busy section of important pathway.
Even someone putting the bare minimum of brain power into this would have put the light post on the left of the road or found some other solution that isn't this. No, no, you're right, we shouldn't expect better. This is just perfect.  |
Not sure they could move the post anywhere else. It has to be right by the street to do it's job, and the river back is to the right of the path, so you can't move the path over. When they initially built the roadway, they didn't plan for a bike lane. The only way to create more room, would be to move the highway itself further from the river.
