To be fair, I thought that scene hinted to as why the previous Master/Apprentice relationship failed between Ahsoka and Sabine.
Ahsoka expected Sabine to anticipate her flying and the enemy flying like a traditional Jedi. For someone like Ahoska who has an easier connection to the Force, things like Sabine's presets where unnecessary. Sabine failed with these expectations.
But only when Ahsoka adapted to what Sabine wanted to do, did they actually make progress in shooting down the enemy fighters and perhaps foreshadowing how Ahsoka might successfully train Sabine this time around.
