Peters paid for his actions when he was racist toward Aliu. He was fired from a dream job of being an NHL head coach for those actions.
The discussion now is should Peters be eligible to coach at any level anymore. We don't know what he has or hasn't done in the 4 years since he was fired - so I won't make judgments on if he should be allowed to coach. There doesn't seem to be any other stories of him being racist at least.
We do know that Aliu has blamed Peters for him not becoming a regular NHLer - and, in my opinion, that is a huge reach. So I judge him for that part, I guess. |
What part is the reach? Writing a letter to management and getting him booted to the ECHL while he was leading the team in points, and doing this after hurling racial slurs at him.
