Well, this is not really surprising. Honestly.

I did a placement in a politician's office for a good couple-handful of months. You would not believe what people call about - again and again. And think it is of serious concern.

One person phoned/contacted/wrote letters a grand total of ~ 10 - 15 times about how her neighbour's BBQ smoke made her back yard too smokey. Only problem was this was not this gov't member's level of responsibility, it was a municipal thing. Everytime this person was told that, everytime they kept complaining.

One person complained that the noise from the bars downtown kept her from sleeping at night. Only thing being the bars were downtown (like I said) and this person lived on the outer edge of the city. So she was absolutely nowhere near the bars (it would be like complaining about the noise from the downtown bars when you are living say in Tuscany).

Those are but 2 examples. I could go on, and on, and on.....people are extremely persistent with their politicians about their certain, umm, interesting concerns and complaints. A few people actually have to be barred from their MLAs office because they are, well to put it politely, so "persistent".
