On another note, anytime I’ve played rap music around a 60+ y/o male I get the exact same response. None of them have said anything bad to a black person or done any harm to them either. They grew up through the violent gangster rap era and have some sort of distain for the music and say dumb ####. None of them are actually bad people.

That's an interesting gymnastics routine you have down to excuse Peters and any one in his age bracket regardless of the specifics of their actions, words and intents. From the accounts of those affected and the entire
investigation carried out to carefully attain enough information to make a judgment, it's evident he did more than insult and berate rap music one time..
This "at least they're not lucifer!" dismissal of every shade below (/above?) that is also nutty.
Also Peters was in his early-mid 40s when that event occurred.
