I don’t think the other coach was apologizing on his behalf, it sounds like the other coach was reaching out to Aliu to see if he would speak with Peters and accept an apology. In his statement, Aliu said he had no reason to talk to Peters after all this time.

IMO the issue is why Peters waited until this point to reach out to Aliu, not necessarily that he asked another coach to help him make contact.
