To me, it would be a different situation if Peters had really tried to make amends and demonstrated a willingness to learn and become a better person, but asking someone else to apologize for something that happened over a decade ago is not exactly screaming that. Add the timing of the attempted "apology" right before he gets another coaching opportunity and it reeks of someone who's not really sorry, but who only thinks about himself.
