Immediately dismissing the fact that environmentalists might be setting some of these fires to advance their climate change agenda... I'm sorry, I wouldn't put it past the realm of possibility.

Someone just set the island of Tenerife on fire. There was a couple charged setting fires in Northern BC or Quebec a couple years back. These green warriors have blocked traffic in europe that have lead to people dying in emergency medical situations and their movements leader had a stunning lack of remorse when questioned on live TV about it.

To suggest all of these fires are arson, yes, that is moronic. But it is completely plausible that there is a man made, political activism component to some of them. It would be astonishingly easy to set a forest fire undetected in 95% of Canada. In 95% of the world for that matter.

I didn't even know this was a 'conspiracy theory' until a couple months ago. I've wondered for the last four or five years if the spike in forest fires might partially have a deliberate/political component to them.

The difference being I haven't been donning a tin foil suit and shouting it from the rooftops. Just musing to myself internally when I'm walking my dog or riding my bike in the smoke.

At the end of the day, I don't think it hurts to ask the question. Sometimes the lunatic asking the crazy questions might actually be on to something.
Yes, the people who are most likely to deliberately destroy the forest are...environmentalists, a group very well-known for hating trees. Come on now.
