Lindholm is a very good player, and is a middle of the road top line C (not a weak top line C). The idea, when building a team is to acquire MORE good players, not trade them all away for wishes and rainbows. You don't want that - we get it. But your incessant need to tell us, over and over, and to bend the facts to try and make your argument, is getting boring.
This is less about Lindholm than the cap structure of the team. Tre might be gone, but his stupid decisions are still here for a long time. You want to build it so that it's competitive when it's actually built. Also you need cap flexibility to build, and keep your players when they are still good and getting better AND the team is getting better. Not lock it away for a decade on players who aren't THAT great and will get further and further away from being great(along with the team, since those are locked in as the top guys). Then end up trading away futures whether you want keep the senior citizens or get rid of them.

I actually think Lindholm would be perfect as the old guy(like Pavelski hopefully), but that role is already OVERfilled with Huberdeau and Kadri. But what the hell its only a decade.
