When I was working in the States my co-workers were paying 400-600 per month for health insurance and then paying 3000-5000 in medical costs just to have a baby. One of the support staff making about 50k got crushed by debt after their teenage kid suffered a serious accident because they were on a lower tier of health insurance.

Yeah this is how I remember hearing what it is, if you are poor and without income at least have a chance at Medicaid but anyone with low income doesn't get that and can't afford Medicare and get caught in between.
