Hopefully we get to find out if it works. Because what we have now definitely isn’t working.

To stop inflation, a Conservative government would:

  • Cap government spending with a Pay-As-You-Go Law requiring the government find a dollar of savings for each new dollar of spending;
  • Axe the carbon tax and payroll tax hikes to strengthen paycheques and lower energy prices; and
  • Remove red tape and gatekeepers to allow businesses, farmers and workers to produce more affordable energy, food and housing.
So they're going to lower government revenue and reduce spending? Okay, on what specifically. And remove some regulations around food? What could possibly go wrong? Also, it doesn't address why food growth is at it's highest in 40 years and why inflation is so high, AROUND THE WORLD. They make is sound like this is something unique to Canada and somehow the Liberals fault that food in Spain and inflation in Turkey is high. It's more half-truths and sound bites. This isn't a plan, this is a bumper-sticker.

Of course, the most dangerous part of the plan is the dollar of savings for every dollar spent. What exactly does this mean for the highest cost items in the budget like Healthcare and Social Security?
