Interesting take on the Prigozhin saga. The timeline kind of sheds light on the situation making it less likely this was revenge for the mutiny (though it was also that), but more that it was a hostile takeover.
As others have posted, Russia is less a modern cohesive administrative nation and more a Mafia network. Wagner had been taking up too much air and gaining too much power in Africa for Putin to continue to allow. Prigozhin didn't like the directive to submit Wagner to the military and blamed it on Shoigu, but it's more likely this was directly aimed at Wagner becoming too big for Putin to allow. Wagner was negotiating alone in Africa and acting like a kingmaker in propping up coups. His time in the barrel was coming with or without the mutiny. He could see it coming
Fast forward Prigozhin tries to fight back and realizes it isn't going to work and now his plane malfunctions.
