I can't see how that would happen, hockey players generally don't make much in endorsements like the NFL and NBA players can. He's just another bland, boring white Canadian personality like Crosby in a sport that doesn't resonate with most of the US.

But I do look forward to a Mcdavidless Oilers if it happens and how they will butcher the return for him, if they get any at all (maybe they pull a Johnny Gaudreau and delude themselves into believing he re-signs then he doesn't).
