What does Sidney Crosby make in endorsements?
Big Read: How Sidney Crosby built hockey's most lucrative brand
And that hasn't lessened his popularity one bit: Twelve seasons into his NHL career, Crosby's sweater is still the league's best-seller, and his $4.5 million in annual sponsorship revenue, as reported by Forbes, outstrips any other player in the game. Being the best hockey player in the world certainly helps
.

So MvDavid is going to get a $16milAAV (guessing) and get more than that in endorsements when Sidney Crosby makes more than anyone in the game in endorsements at $4.5mil/yr?

I can't see how that would happen, hockey players generally don't make much in endorsements like the NFL and NBA players can. He's just another bland, boring white Canadian personality like Crosby in a sport that doesn't resonate with most of the US.

But even more shocking in your post is the idea that Wayne Gretzky, an employee of the Oilers would advise a generational talent that could bring them a cup, continued sellouts and jersey sales to leave because he's also a smart business man? What on earth?
