I've gone through a 5 week application process, with 4 interviews and 3 online assessments. We are now at an offer stage, but the recruiter wants a firm yes that I will sign before he goes through the effort of getting the offer. I told him I wanted an offer in front of me before I can give a full commitment, and the effort I've given over the last 5 weeks should be enough to show my interest.
I've had things fall apart at the offer stage before, where they put things in that didn't match what was discussed, etc. No person involved in sales will agree to sign a contract before seeing it. It's time to do your part Mr Recruiter, try to get my ask that you are aware I'd like. If not, then I have a decision to make. But I'm not going to say yes for sure.

lol, that's so dumb. What's the point of an offer if they're asking you to commit beforehand. That's literally what the offer is and it's not like writing up an offer letter takes ages. You don't even know what you're committing to.
