in fact Pronman says he likes our first rounders- of which there are 4 on display here (1,2,3,6) intermingled with a goalie that has dominated at the pro-level and a dman who found his feet well also in the AHL. If on a list Pelletier is considered a prospect (ie not graduated) and yet at number 6; given his production in pro hockey that is probably a sign of a decent list (at least depth wise- there is no front end burner here likely)

Part of the way to evaluate is looking at the teams sitting above them.
Right now those are:
17. Dallas
18. St. Louis
19. Winnipeg
20. LA
My assessment of each:
LA: Higher end talent at the top with Byfield (question marks though), Clarke, and Kaliyev. You probably still put the first two above any Flames prospect.
Winnipeg: Benefiting from Perfetti being inclusion. Odd prospect group to assess as they've got a couple real boom/bust guys, including Lambert.
St. Louis: Nice top 4 in Dvorsky, Snuggerud, Stenberg and Neighbours and some good depth down through 8 or 9.
Dallas: Benefiting from Wyatt Johnston still being in there. Stankoven/Harley are solid #2 and #3. Solid through the top 5.
I don't have much problem with any of those teams being above the Flames, but they are not significantly above. I think the Flames are basically firmly in the bottom part of the "middle tier" of teams that have solid but not spectacular prospect basis. In my head I would have guessed late teens, so this is not far off.
