Its supposed to be a happy day for Grads and their families, a lot of hard work went into accomplishing this not to mention money.
"Thanks for graduating into this world of S###" is not really in the spirit of the moment.

The bolded isn't what I took from the speech. The speech itself was more in the lines of Gandhi's "be the change you want to see in the world" or JFK's "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." I took it as a very hopeful speech. She says she can't wait to see the words of Gandhi and JFK manifested in those graduating that day.
