Lately I just can't stand commercials, period. Am I just getting cranky in my old age, or are there more of them than ever before? It feels to me that the persuasive message is CONSUME CONSUME CONSUME, with a heaping side of Marketing Psychology. All the commercials I see feel like roomful of eggheads got together to try to sell me on an "experience" or an "image" or a "tribe". It's too much. I seriously want to punch anyone dunking an Oreo cookie these days. About the only one I CAN stand these day is Amy Schumer schilling tampons. That, is a mighty sad commentary on our collective culture.
