Now, bear in mind that we were doing the standard tourist trip - cable cars, Alcatraz, Giants game etc - so we didn’t walk through the Tenderloin at midnight - but the parts of the City that we saw were very clean, and I probably saw about a dozen homeless folks in total over 4 days. That’s not an exaggeration. Our friends loved it
Obviously the City has massive problems - but for tourists I couldn’t fault it and we would definitely go back.
Very expensive though!!!

I wonder if this is a situation where the bad press actually makes the experience better for those who do go. There are definitely less tourists going to SF, and accommodation prices are down (I sell SF accom). Basically everywhere else is up materially since pre-pandemic, SF is flat/down.
