For what it's worth Byron hit like a truck for his size, was a pain in the arse for not just Drew Pouty Paul was a fierce competitor and his team mates adored him.
I know someone who works for the Flames mentioning how angry guys were in the room once he was gone. Heart and soul doesn't even cover it.
We've seen to few a player like that in Calgary . Byron was always memorable in my mind for the good little things he did as a team mate, silent leader .
When I think of good all around players I think of Yelle, Gelinas, Patterson, Robert's, Kipper....all guys who you never had to worry about making sure we had the best chance to win and always showed up and did things no one else was doing.
Byron was one of those guys. He got concussion issues after he left here and I am glad he's okay. Bottom line ....walk away intact.
